    The paper firstly brought forward hierarchical division based on process flow, and constituted layout theory, arithmetic, and layout process. The method was based on operational flow, and different transportation modes were marked out according to the shape and quality to material modality. The sub-space were decomposed into basic layout units. We applied reasonable layout algorithm to mark out the different decks. The storage mode of column and pontoon was projected. Finally the center of gravity was taken into consideration and the general layout was adjusted according to result in an optimal center of gravity.According to the layout programming, we took a project in the scantling design as an example,the layout of rigs system was implemented in details.

    On the basis of analyzing design knowledge in the multi-fields, an approach to product conceptual design based on intelligent configuration was put forward. Firstly the parametric knowledge models were described. Secondly an intelligent conceptual design configuration framework was constructed. A configuration knowledge base was discussed,then the reasoning process of the parameters in the multi-fields were presented. Finally the conceptual design process of a controllable reducer was used as an example to show the feasibility of the configuration platform.

    The advantages and design requirements of the electromagnetic valve actuator were analyzed herein. A novel moving coil electromagnetic valve actuator was presented,and a coupling system model was developed from three points of view: electric circuit, electromagnetic field and mechanism. The prototype of the moving coil electromagnetic valve actuator was developed, and the electromagnetic force characteristics were validated by experiments. The dynamic characteristics were obtained from the simulation. The results show that the moving coil electromagnetic valve actuator can achieve a transient time of 3.02ms and a seating velocity of 0.031m/s, which is verified by the experiments. Both of the transient time and seating velocity are acceptable. It is possible to be used as an engine valve actuator.

    According to the operating characteristics of ultrasonic motors, parameter design of Taguchi method was adapted to effectively regulate a total of 18 control parameters of multiple joint robot driven by ultrasonic motors.An optimal and robust set of controller parameters was obtained.Results show that,at the premise of smooth operation of the robot,the set of control parameters applies to different graphics drawn by the robot,and improves the accuracy of the positions.

    In order to attain lattice structure with high load-carrying efficiency , according to the two kinds of probable buckling modes of fiber winding composite lattice structures, overall buckling and local buckling, the equations used to compute overall buckling loads and local buckling loads were derived, and MATLAB program was compiled and used to compute buckling loads. Axial compression experiments of 480mm lattice structure were carried on the INSTRON1346 material fatigue strength test machine. Computed results and experimental results were compared . As a result, using overall buckling methods and local buckling methods, limit axial compression load and buckling mode of composite lattice structures can be preferably forecasted.

    A piezoelectric generator based on the piezoelectric stack electro-mechanical energy conversion was proposed. The electro-mechanical coupling model of the generator and the relationship between the deduced voltage and the exciting force of the stack were deduced based on the piezoelectric vibration theory and one-dimensional wave theory. The effects on the power performance of piezoelectric stack physical parameters, such as the amplitude and frequency of the force, the mass and the stiffness of the mechanical system were studied. The research results show that the bigger the force, the larger the power ability, and when the frequency of the exciting force is according with the resonant frequency of the generator, the power ability of the generator is maximum. And if the length and area of the piezoelectric stack is suitable for the resonant frequency of the generator, the power ability is maximum. Moreover, if the load impedance matches the equivalent impedance of the generator, the electro-mechanical energy conversion efficiency of the generator is maximum.

    Some deficiencies were analyzed for current design change management of conceptual design. This paper proposed a solution for conceptual design change management,where the document relationships combined with configuration management.It aimed at the structure and composition uncertainty of conceptual design in product design chain. On the basis of analyzing existing conceptual design procedures, the conceptual design flow of product design chain was constructed. In conceptual design phase, the document relationships were defined and formally described, a design change control processing was proposed based on configuration management for conceptual design of product design chain. The concept of document matrix tree was proposed originally, and the method can overcome insufficiency which the pattern of design change management based on document cannot determine the change of proliferation scope. This paper achieves the integrity, consistency and effectiveness of document relationship information among the partners of design chain.

    The paper presented a method of detecting long-range correlation in a signal——detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) and applied it to diagnose gear faults. Two key problems, i.e. scaling range and polynomial order of fitted trend, were discussed. Scaling exponent was extracted to be as a detector for diagnosing five types of gear faults, their were normal, spalling, tooth broken, wearing and cracking. The correct diagnosis ratio is large than 96%. Further, compared with the kurtosis detector, a traditional statistic parameter, the results demonstrate DFA is an effective method in machinery fault diagnosis.

    A new gear pump was put forward. Analyzing the tooth surface equation of arch gear, it is demonstrated that two tooth surfaces of arch gears which the circumferential modules are equal can carry out linear contact. The arch gear pump can be composed with a pair of arch gear. On the basis of above,the expressions of instant flow of arch gear pump were deduced,the relationship of the flow with the main parameters of arch gear was demostrated, they indicate that the pulsation of arch gear pump is smaller than that of arch straight teeth gear pump.

    According to the terrain features of irregular environment, we proposed a novel mobile mechanism of the transformable wheel-track robot (TWTR). The TWTR could adapt autonomously to the irregular environment by transforming the track configuration or by changing the locomotion mode between track mode and wheel mode. The TWTR mechanism consisted of a control system unit and two symmetric transformable wheel-track units. As the mobile mechanism of TWTR, the wheel-track unit was composed of a transformable track mechanism and a drive wheel mechanism. The drive system of the wheel-track unit provided two outputs in different form only by one servo motor, or rather enables the wheel-track unit to have the abilities to transform the configuration of the track and to make the robot move by wheel or by track.We designed the parameters of track mechanism by parametric optimization based on genetic algorithm, and designed the parameters of the drive wheel mechanism according to the configuration features of the wheel-track unit. The validity of the parameters was demonstrated by simulation on the robot transforming the track configuration and changing the locomotion mode.

    A semi-flow-shop scheduling problem, similar to flow-shop,was presented herein. The jobs which were processed as batches on identical production line may pass certain working procedure, and go into the next directly, according to the respective technological requirements. This scheduling problem was known from the flow-shop scheduling problem. According to the actual requirements of production scheduling, the objectives considered the earliness and tardiness, as well as the idle of machine tools. An improved genetic algorithm was proposed to solve this scheduling problem. The concept of gene entropy was used for the calculation of sharing function, adaptive probabilities of crossover and mutation. These measures improve the performance of the algorithm.

    A utility fuction for complexity was proposed and its curve
    was drawn according to the mutual relationship between the complexity and utility in a manufacturing system.The trend that the system become more and more complex was analysed based on the influence of complexity on utility. From the information-theoretical point of view, the models of the static entropy and the dynamic entropy of cellular manufacturing systems were developed and the cognizance of the states of manufacturing resources was also illustrated.Finally,an example was used to demonstrate the validity of the proposed methodology. 

    To improve the efficiency of AGV systems, a deadlock-free multi-attribute dispatching method with dynamic adjustable weights (AWMA) was proposed. Distance, input and output buffer status were selected as dispatching attributes according to the efficiency and deadlock avoidance requirements. The weight for each attribute was determined depending on the processing and transportation loads of the system. To guarantee deadlock free, a deadlock avoidance policy based on remaining capacity was integrated into the dispatching procedure. To validate the effectiveness of method proposed, simulation experiments were conducted to compare three commonly used dispatching methods with the proposed AWMA method. The simulation results show that the deadlock avoidance policy guarantees the system to be deadlock-free and the AWMA method is better than other methods when resources are scarce. This indicates that the proposed method is effective.

    In mixed-model assembly lines, the workload assigned to a workstation may vary among the different models because each task processing time may vary among the different models. To balance instantaneous workload among workstations, multi-objective optimization for the mixed model assembly line balance problem was studied. Three objectives,such as balancing weighted average workload, minimize cycle time of assembly line and minimize idle time of workstation, were proposed. A mathematical programming model was built, and a genetic algorithm was used to solve the mathematical programming model. By multi-objective optimization, high line usage rate and line efficiency can be perceived and weighted average workload and instantaneous workload among workstations can be balanced. An example was given to show the efficiency of the approach.

    The routine five element set was improved and extended based on the research of traditional design pattern and an eight element set design pattern was designed. A rapid product design method based on the eight element set pattern and dedicated module was presented. The architecture of the rapid design system was given. The product structure to be designed was divided into inherit original design part and creative design part. The method of the eight element set pattern was used for aiding creative design, and the dedicated module method was used for inheriting original design. Finally, the method proposed herein was illustrated and verified by a rapid design system for molding tool of composite material component of airplane manufacture.

    According to the data collected from 17 NC machine tools of one certain type, the statistical method was firstly used to carry out the rate between the failure positions and the failure modes. To solve the uncertain problem of the failure effect probability when sorting the criticality values, fuzzy linguistic variables and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation were introduced to the criticality analysis. Then the weakness and the failure modes can be identified, which has greater effect on the reliability of NC machine tools.

    The constrain resistance force caused by drawbead and friction is always treated as active force, that can not simulate the real effect in stamping process.A new technique of constraint resistance treatment by means of linear elastic spring element model was proposed based on the dynamic explicit incremental method,which can be applied to build more accurate model of process parameters such as blank holding force,drawbead and friction,to reflect the effect of the process parameters actually generated synchronously and passively.The simulation results of Numisheet 2005 decklid are compared with experimental ones,which verifies the efficiency of the new treatment method.

    To investigate the spatial distribution mode of a moving strip around a pulley and effects of this spatial distribution mode on operation security, a BVP (boundary value problem) with undetermined boundary describing the steady configuration of the moving strip was proposed. After the BVP with undetermined boundary being transformed into a BVP with determined boundary, the steady configuration of the moving strip was solved by using collocation method. Moreover, a set of parameters describing the configuration of moving strip was put forward. Then influencing factors of these parameters were analyzed. The study shows the moving strip will lift up around a pulley. This phenomenon may reduce the wrap angle of the strip on the pulley and it is harmful to the operation security of strip. The influence of this phenomenon can be weakened by reducing moving velocity of the strip and the flexural rigidity of the strip, increasing the tension in strip and the diameter of pulley. Larger linear density makes uplift of the strip higher, but extending length shorter.

    For achieving the improvement goals of performances of engineering characteristics(ECs) in an economic and effective way, an integrated methodology for determining the final importance ratings of ECs was proposed.According to the competitive evaluations of performances of ECs and value evaluations of the products of a company and its competitors, a model for determining the competitive importance ratings of ECs corresponding to every member of quality function deployment team was built by using
    multiple attribute decision making method,and this model was solved by using Lagrange function, and then the competitive importance ratings of ECs in HOQ were determined by analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Secondly,based on the integration of scale method and AHP, the importance rating of achieving the improvement target of performances(ITOP) of every EC was determined.Lastly, based on the combination of the customer-satisfaction-based importance rating, the competitive importance rating,and the importance rating of achieving the ITOP of every EC,the final importance ratings of ECs were determined. A case study of product development of a fully automatic washing machine in a corporation was provided to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

The plowing/extruding tool was designed and the forming process of integral serrated outside fins by plowing/extruding was analyzed. The terms of fins forming and the influences of the technical parameters on fins height were investigated. The formula of critical feed was deduced and validation experiments were conducted.     In order to enhance the immersion feelings and the controlling functionality for cutting, pasting, and compensating of VCM system, a set of interaction tasks were assigned with the characteristics of Spaceball 5000 and PHANTOM Desktop. During the process of realizing 6 degrees of freedom haptic feedback modeling control, device interfaces were developed with Open Inventor and Qt framework. Finally, some examples were introduced to validate these results. At the same time, this is a beneficial attempt for computer aided industrial design method.

    This paper is focused on the finite element model for rubber forming process. Based on different descriptions of the rubber pad, three kinds of numerical models were put forward for rubber forming and applied in the analysis of straight flanging process. Through the discussion about effect of rubber pad on the sheet deformation, it is concluded that rubber pad plays as a significant part in decreasing springback. Accuracy of the three models was compared, using experimental and predicted springback data of different bending radius. It is found that the method that describes rubber pad as shell elements can bring the springback analysis less errors and higher efficiency. 

    The conventional feature recognition method was abandoned here and a method based on middle face model was proposed. Firstly, the appropriate method was proposed to represent middle face model, i.e. face-edge attribute graph and face-edge attribute matrix. Secondly, according to characteristics of molded product, features were classified into face feature, link feature and strengthen feature. Thirdly, based on analyzing topology and geometry characteristics of the faces, edge loops and edges in middle face models, feature recognition methodology based on middle face model was researched respectively. Lastly, algorithm implementation method and a case study were presented.
