Service-oriented manufacturing was a new industrial pattern of integrating manufacturing and services in the context of industrialization.In the deep integration of manufacturing and service industries,the roles of producers and consumers would be relocated,and the link relationship between producers and producers,producers and consumers should be reconstructed.The service-oriented manufacturing was taken as the keywords herein,and the academic articles published at home and abroad in the past ten years were selected as the research samples.The organization and operation mode,value-added manufacturing services,design and production service,industrial product-service system,manufacturing service supply chain and the manufacturing supported by IT-based technology were covered.Then,industrial applications were analyzed.Finally,the development trends of service-oriented manufacturing were discussed.

Service-oriented manufacturing,as a new integration mode of manufacturing and service,provided products and related services.The new ICT,such as internet of things,big data and cloud computing,brought significant and complex impacts on manufacturing-service integration and PSS.A literature review was presented with the publications related to the impacts on manufacturing servitization by new ICT,PSS mode selection,configuration optimization of PSS,planning and configuration optimization of customization.The problems of existing researches were summarized and directions of future researches were discussed.

With the applications and developments of some New ITs in manufacturing,a series of service-oriented manufacturing systems or platforms were proposed. These systems or platforms aimed to realize the full-sharing and on-demand uses of various distributed manufacturing resources and capabilities in the form of manufacturing services. Manufacturing service management was one of the important issues that restricted the applications and promotions of the platforms. An overview of the impacts of New IT on manufacturing collaboration patterns and the corresponding manufacturing service management modes were given herein. From the perspective of the whole lifecycle of manufacturing service management,the current research progresses of platform-based manufacturing service management were elaborated. Considering the applications and developments of New IT,future research issues related to manufacturing service management were summarized finally.

Modularized intelligent service design method was established through analyzing service operating environments and service requirements during integration of manufacture and service.The method was based upon manufacturing instrumented environments,and adopted module technique,including initialization,reconstitution,and modularity of intelligent service designs.Functional relationship of intelligent service was illustrated by utilizing designed structure matrix,strategy of modular design for intelligent service functions was built,and functional reconstitution of intelligent service was confirmed.Feasibility and superiority of modular design for intelligent service functions in manufacturing instrumented environments were shown by applying specific cases.

Based on the features of remanufacturing and product-service systems,a concept of RPSS was proposed.The LCA model of RPSS was established according to the LCA method framework,and the applications of the model were carried out using diesel engine RPSS as a case study.Results show that the quality and performance of remanufactured products are not inferior to those of new products,which is the key for enterprises to obtain environmental benefits through the implementation of RPSS.Enterprises may develop products designed for remanufacturing to improve the remanufacturing rate of products and reduce RPSS life cycle environmental impact.RPSS may provide enterprises with stable sources of used parts and improve their market competitiveness.

A modular design framework of PSS oriented to mass personalization was proposed.Through the combination of internal fewer modules of products and services,personalized customer demands might be realized in ways of large scale,low cost and fast speed.The differences between mass personalization mode and mass customization mode were discussed,the research and application statuses of PSS modular design oriented to mass personalization were summarized,the basic features and realization modes of modular design of PSS oriented to mass personalization were analyzed,and the PSS modular processes and methods were put forward.The proposed design framework and methods of PSS modular design oriented to mass personalization provide a theoretical reference for the mass personalization design and the PSS modular design.

In order to improve the sustainability of the cloud manufacturing scheduling processes,a multi-task scheduling method was studied based on the sustainability of cloud manufacturing,and a cloud-manufacturing multi-task scheduling process and a sustainability framework were analyzed based on the service-oriented architecture theory.Considering economic,environmental and social factors,a multi-task scheduling model was constructed based on sustainability and an improved genetic algorithm was designed to effectively solve the problems of scheduling model solution.Through the comparison simulation experiments based on the sustainability scheduling model and the satisfaction-based scheduling model,the effects of sustainability on the multi-task scheduling effectiveness of cloud manufacturing was observed.The results show that from the perspective of overall system optimization,the sustainability-based scheduling model may reduce environmental costs and equipment idleness without sacrificing customer satisfaction,and ensure the sustainable operations of the platform as a whole.

Since the concept of cloud manufacturing was proposed in 2010,relevant researches were ongoing for more than eight years,and much progresses were made.However,existing studies indicated that there lacked common understandings of a number of critical issues in cloud manufacturing among researchers.There still lacked clear and concrete ideas for implementation of cloud manufacturing.There were also a number of different definitions for cloud manufacturing.Motivated by this,the aforementioned issues were re-discussed and an alternative definition of cloud manufacturing was presented.Finally,some key issues of cloud manufacturing to be addressed in the future were put forward.

Firstly,the progresses and deficiencies of management pattern evolutions in manufacturing-enterprises driven by service-oriented manufacturing were organized from the perspective of theories,research methods and conclusions.Secondly,the effects of technological evolutions on service-oriented manufacturing were discussed under “Internet Plus” background.Thirdly,the management pattern evolutions and the technological evolutions were integrated,and the enterprise evolution path should be intelligent-,platformization-,and networking-oriented.It is verified by data that the management pattern evolution,technological evolution and their interactions may improve the performances of service-oriented manufacturing enterprises.Finally,the research framework of service-oriented manufacturing enterprises was constructed under “Internet Plus” background,and then the research prospects were put forward.

Aimig on process improvement of service-oriented manufacturing systems,which was a combination of product manufacturing and service delivery,a service-oriented manufacturing system was structured,based on the service-oriented manufacturing and service blueprint coupling.According to the characteristics of the system,a method of system process improvements were given based on fuzzy tree graph.Finally,the effectiveness of the system process improvement method was verified by the case studies.The research indicates that the service-based manufacturing system may rapid response to customer heterogeneity demands based on the service blueprint.The results of system process improvement may be reflected in terms of time,flexibility,cost and quality.This will help manufacturers realize of the service value creation,and customers gain differentiated high-quality service through the participation.

The relationships between information and communication technologies (ICT) and services were mainly discussed based on the characteristics of the servitization of equipment industries.Through the multi-case research methods, how four equipment companies in China using ICT to realize service transformation was analyzed and 12 kinds of services commonly used in equipment manufacturing companies as well as 14 functions of ICT in servitization were summarized.It is found that remote monitoring is an extremely important function, which is the basis for providing services such as maintenance and product design.In addition, from the three phases of pre-sales, sales and after-sales, the servitization transformation of manufacturing companies which achieve through ICT was explained and concrete suggestions were given on promoting the developments of servitization of equipment industries in all stages.
